Innocence Canada Foundation

The Innocence Canada Foundation is a registered charitable organization (#8551 45462 RR0001) dedicated to supporting critical initiatives that help overturn wrongful convictions and prevent future injustices.

Our Charitable Objectives

Providing Legal Services
to low-income individuals seeking exoneration.

Offering Financial Assistance
to exonerated individuals for basic necessities.

Supporting Educational Programs that address the causes of wrongful convictions.

Raising Public Awareness about the criminal justice system and wrongful convictions.

Where Your
Donations Go

Innocence Canada is a national non-governmental organization working to exonerate the wrongly convicted.

Innocence Canada is fortunate to have a small, dedicated team of staff lawyers and low-bono case reviewers, generously funded by the Lindy Green Charitable Family Foundation and Law Foundation of Ontario. The legal team has been instrumental in reducing our waitlist from six years to 4.5 years in 2025—a significant improvement, but still far too long for those seeking justice. Financial support remains essential to sustain our core work and cover the many other costs involved in proving claims of innocence. With your support, we can continue to shorten wait times and help more individuals who have been wrongfully convicted.
