Innocence Canada Launches New Website

INNOCENCE CANADA LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE TO STRENGTHEN SUPPORT FOR THE WRONGFULLY CONVICTED

Innocence Canada announces the launch of its newly enhanced website, designed to better support individuals who have been wrongfully convicted and their families, while strengthening public understanding of the organization’s legal and advocacy work across Canada.

The website redevelopment was made possible through a generous pro bono contribution from Mundy Marketing Group Inc., in recognition of the Milgaard family’s enduring legacy and impact on justice reform in Canada. Alan Mundy, President of Mundy Marketing Group, is Joyce Milgaard’s great-nephew.

“We are incredibly grateful to Mundy for helping us bring this vision to life. This new platform makes it easier for people to access information, support, and guidance at one of the most difficult moments of their lives,” said Stephanie Nowak, Executive Director of Innocence Canada. “It also helps Canadians better understand the systemic issues that lead to wrongful convictions, the work required to address them, and the life-long impacts on the wrongly convicted, their families and loved ones, and communities.”

The redesigned website provides:
• A clearer and more accessible pathway for individuals seeking assistance with a wrongful conviction
• Enhanced storytelling and educational content highlighting Innocence Canada’s case work and advocacy
• Simplified access to donation and support opportunities
• A modernized user experience designed to reduce barriers and reach more people nationwide

This launch represents an important step forward in Innocence Canada’s mission to support the innocent, advocate for reform, and prevent future miscarriages of justice.

“As an organization, we are proud to support Innocence Canada’s work,” said Mundy. “On a personal level, it is deeply meaningful to contribute to an organization that carries forward my great-aunt Joyce Milgaard’s pursuit of justice and honours the legacy of David Milgaard’s exoneration and his life’s work to help the wrongly convicted.”

About Innocence Canada
Innocence Canada is a national organization dedicated to identifying, advocating for, and supporting the exoneration of individuals who have been wrongfully convicted. The organization also works to prevent wrongful convictions through legal education, public advocacy, and criminal justice reform.

Innocence Canada originated from the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted (AIDWYC), which grew out of the volunteer-run Justice for Guy Paul Morin Committee formed in 1993. AIDWYC was rebranded as Innocence Canada in 2016.
